I love writing. Whether it's a website or an advertisement, an e-mailing, a blog, a pay-off, an Instagram message or a translation in Dutch. I find it a challenge to say as much as possible with as few words as possible. Readable and understandable. So with as little jargon or unnecessarily difficult words as possible.
Ernest Hemingway once said, "The most essential gift for a good writer is a built-in shock-proof shit-detector." And that's exactly how it is. A target audience is not stupid. So I never write anything I don't find credible.
Furthermore I am very precise. I can remove a comma and then put it back again a moment later.
And of course I make sure that your text is SEO-proof and is easily found by Google and other search engines. But the most important thing is that a text remains catchy and readable.
Oh yes, I also have a thing for rhyme. Give me a melody and tell me what the song should be about. And within a day there is something that rhymes perfectly and runs like a train.
But I think it's best when you can seduce your reader or listener. With a story that really touches them. That something intriguing, something magical arises. Something that rises above the text.
