Once upon a long time ago I grew up in a tiny dike village on the river Linge. I gradually became more and more fascinated by language there. And so I eventually went to study Dutch Language and Literature in Amsterdam. Subjects that I learned there, such as media-oriented writing and popularizing writing, still serve me well to this day.
After that I ended up in advertising. I worked as a copywriter and creative director for various well-known agencies such as FCB, Ogilvy and TBWA\. If you want to know exactly which ones just take a look at my LinkedIn resume.
Nowadays I work a lot as a freelance copywriter, translator (in Dutch), content manager and web editor for a wide variety of clients. Writing content for a website, a blog page, a newsletter or a social media post. That is what I have gained a lot of experience in by now. But I can just as easily develop a video script or a radio or TV campaign. My starting point is always to make a story or text as gripping and accessible as possible. No matter how complicated the subject is.
Coming up with solutions that work. Suddenly seeing the forest for the trees. After all these years I still find that a wonderful prospect.
